Comparison of web based vs. stand alone installation of Project
Viewers
Advantages of a stand alone installed Project Viewer compared to a web
based solution:
- project data can be viewed also when offline e.g. when using a laptop
while traveling.
- higher performance - no need to download the application.
- more features - a native implementation provides more
possibilities to implement the necessary viewing functionality.
The roadmap includes a ActiveX web based version as well to cover
installations where this type is preferred - please ask for details
if this is interesting for you.
These reasons have led to the decision to develop a
stand alone version of the Project Viewer at first with all
the features and advantages described here and in Details of the Project
Viewer.
